SERCS
Spring 2007

The weekend before sprint break, the University of Georgia Rowing club competed in, and hosted SERCS. It was held at Langley Pond in Aiken, South Carolina. This was the first 2k race of the season. We had amazing weather and a great turn out.

UGA came away with second place in team points and had a great showing. The women's varsity ltwt 4 boats took 1st and 2nd place. The men's ltwt 4 boat took second place to Georgia Tech. The women's novice 8 boats took 1st and 3rd. The men's novice 8 boat can in 6th. Both the men and women's champ 4 boats took 1st. The women's novice 4 boat took 1st and the men's novice 4 boats took 2nd and 5th. The women's champ 8 boats took 2nd and 4th. The men's champ 8 took 4th. Overall, UGA proved to be very competitive in both the varsity and novice races.

After SERCS, most of the team went to Winter Park, Florida, for a one week training trip. There, they trained two times a day out of the Rollins College boat house. This week of intense workouts proved to be very beneficial during the Clemson Sprints which were held on March 24th. More information to come on Clemson Sprints.
