ATL Erg Sprints

The Georgia Rowing team competed in the Atlanta Erg Sprints at Georgia Tech. on Saturday, February 9th.

The competition was fiercer than it had been at the UTC Erg Sprint, but the crew dawgs succeeded once again at working as a team and pulling impressive times.

In the Novice Women's 2k race, Elizabth Marsh won 4th place with a time of 7:56.4. In the Open Varsity Women's 2k race, Megan Kotsko secured 5th place at 7:34.5 and Kelsey Hanks came in close behind with a time of 7:46.3, winning 6th place. In the Open Varsity Men's race, Kevin Mara came in 2nd with a time of 6:24.4. Hoa Nguyen took 3rd place in the Collegiate Coxswains 1k race with a time of 4:40.4. The team's head coach Louie Kirchner took 6th place in the Collegiate Coaches Dash at 1:31.2. One of Georgia's relay teams, UGA 1, took 2nd place in the team relay races with a time of 6:18.4.

The team is now training and preparing for upcoming regattas. The next event will be the A- Town Cup, the scrimmage the team hosts at our lake at Fort Yargo in Winder, GA. Georgia tech. will be attending as well other prominent schools and the whole team is looking forward to competing on the water.
